The commandment to love one another is foundational to the Christian life. Love is life; hatred is death. Love of the brethren is an indication that we have passed from death unto life. If hatred and and anger control us, we are murderers at heart. God calls us to choose love instead of hatred, and to unselfishly lay down our lives for our brother.
