A covenant is more than just a contract. It is a permanent arrangement that covers a person's total being. Jonathan made a life-changing covenant with David. His commitment to his covenant was tested, but Jonathan was willing to even die for it. We too have a covenant—with God, who wants us to be just as committed to our covenant.
